Characters created using these rules might be altogether better, or altogether worse, than those created using the official rules.
So you're recommended to use these classes for all player characters, or none (you might use it for NPCs only).
Prime Requisite: INT
Members of this class may wear leather armour, but may not carry a shield.
Members of this class may use any weapons.
Members of this class roll to attack as a cleric or thief.
Members of this class have no restrictions on the use of magic items.
Note that, for magic armour, weapons and shields, characters can only use a magic item if they could use the normal version of that item.
Members of this class can cast magic-user spells as a magic-user of 50% of their level - that is:
At level 6, members of this class gain the ability to breathe underwater.
Members of this class save as a cleric of their level.
At level 4, members of this class gain the special abilities of a halfing (hide, possible bonus to initiative, +1 on missile attacks, -2 AC vs creatures larger than human size).
At level 8, members of this class gain the special skills of a captain (see p48 of Labyrinth Lord).
